UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE

The University of Melbourne was established in 1853. Women were admitted from 1881.

 

THE UNIVERSITY OF MELBOURNE CALENDAR COLLECTION 1858-PRESENT

The Calendar is an official University publication that provides general and historical information about the University of Melbourne. The contents of the calendars have varied over the years, but in general they include a list of members, the statutes, regulations and resolutions under which the University operates and the formal records of each faculty's constitution.

The University of Melbourne Archives was established in 1960, to collect and preserve records relating to the University and to business and business people for the purposes of historical research. It is open to all researchers.

The archives holds records relating to Melbourne Teachers' College. They include student record cards and registers from 1936 to 1983. These are not online.

This was named Gordon Technical College until 1921. The registers include an index. Records were housed at the Geelong Historical Centre, Geelong.

This is a finding aid for digitized photographs of school buildings and other educational facilities.

PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE VICTORIA - GOVERNMENT BUILDING PHOTOGRAPHS 1926-1965 (VPRS 10516)

This series includes photographs created by the Department of Public Works between 1926 and 1965. The photographs include state primary schools, state secondary schools, state colleges, public hospitals, courthouses, police stations, prisons and bridges. Also included are Victorian public buildings and some interstate public buildings. This is a finding aid for government buildings.
