The registration of pharmacists began in Victoria in 1876. Unregistered people were prevented from practising pharmacy from this time. After this changes to the pharmaceutical register appear at times in the Victorian Government Gazette. Lists of registered pharmaceutical chemists appeared annually in January in the Victorian Government Gazette from 1899. See Victorian Government Gazettes.
