A book Vision and Realisation: a centenary history of state education in Victoria, edited by L. J. Blake in three volumes was published in 1973. This book may be found in local libraries. It has brief histories of all state schools in Victoria.

THE INSPECTORS: AN ACCOUNT OF THE INSPECTORATE OF THE STATE SCHOOLS OF VICTORIA 1851-1983 BY DAVID HOLLOWAY. PUBLISHED IN 2001.

This book may be found in local libraries. This is a history of inspectors in Victoria and includes biographies of inspectors.

 

FAMILYSEARCH - GEELONG DISTRICT SCHOOLS

The typescript was housed at the Geelong Historical Centre, Geelong; original records held at Public Record Office Victoria. This contains details of all schools visited by Hugh Childers, inspector of schools, with names and ages of all pupils, and a biographical sketch of Childers by Rosamund Druz.
