FOLD3 ACQUISITION OF FORCES WAR RECORDS
In 2023 Fold3 the military genealogy website owned by Ancestry, acquired Forces War Records, a British military genealogy website. This resulted in some 30 million new British military records on the website.
PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE VICTORIA - THE GENERAL REGISTER'S LIBRARY PORTAL
The following records are now available on Public Record Office Victoria's public reading room computers.
These are in addition to Crown Leases (Certificates of Lease), and Titles (Certificates of Title) which were previously available.
TRANSFER OF THE GENERAL LAW LIBRARY TO PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE VICTORIA
PROV and Land Use Victoria have announced the completion of a large and significant transfer of land records into PROV custody: the library of the Registrar-General's Office. This includes the General Law Library which was previously located at 57 Cherry Lane, Laverton North and had been closed to the public since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

HEIDELBERG LDS FAMILY HISTORY CENTRE
The Heidelberg LDS Family History Centre in Northcote reopened on 17th February 2022 after a lengthy closure. There are new opening hours.
PUBLIC RECORD OFFICE VICTORIA - NEW SEARCH AND ONLINE ORDERING SYSTEM
This was launched on 9 August 2021. All Public Record Office Victoria online links except the finding guides need to be updated. Not all the previous online links are available on the new system.
FAMILYSEARCH - COMPLETION OF MICROFILM DIGITIZATION PROJECT
FamilySearch has completed digitizing its 2.4 million rolls of microfilm. The archive, which contains information on more than 11.5 billion individuals, is now available for free at www. familysearch.org
FamilySearch is also working to outsource the digitization of its large microfiche collection, which should be completed several years from now.
NATIONAL ARCHIVES OF AUSTRALIA - DIGITIZATION OF WORLD WAR 2 SERVICE RECORDS (B884, B883, A9301, A9300)
National Archives of Australia are intending to digitize all World War 2 service records by mid 2022. Citizen Military Forces personnel service records (Series B883) for people who enlisted in Victoria are due to be completed in late 2021. Second Australian Imperial Force personnel dossiers (Series B884) for all states are due to be completed in mid 2022. For more information:

Trove has recently upgraded its website. It has altered its format. It now has a lot more magazines, journals and newsletters which are searchable.
